FreeStlye Magazine #3 - Bambi Title Spread

Well, it’s only been a short time – what seems like a couple of weeks – since we brought you FreeStyle Magazine #2, with a fantastic Sir Paul Smith cover and Frisbee.  But we’re back in the studio, hard at work, to bring you yet another great installment to the world of FreeStyle, Fun, Fashion and Frisbee…  Yes! We’re currently working on FreeStyle Magazine issue 3!

I can’t tell you just yet who we have as the designer of this issues disc, however, I can assure you he’s big and a true FreeStyler and friend!

This edition of course will be packed full of wonderfully creative work from the fields of Fashion, Photography, Art, Music and LifeStyle, and all true to the FreeStyle ethic. Just to give you a little taster of the quality of work to come, I have attached a title page produced for one of the fashion stories, entitled ‘Bambi’.

As part of our placement program we offer a design or communication graduate a 2 or 4 month internship at our Milan studio. The position is available immediately.

You should have a good knowledge of inDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and a real passion for graphics and design in general. You will work alongside Massimo Casini and Peter Oliver Davies on the design of Issue 3 of Freestyle Magazine (with a credit in the magazine), as well as on print and web commercial projects.
You will leave us with a better understanding of the design industry and at least one real life project to stick in your portfolio.

Freestyle Magazine Issue Two is here! After a very challenging time distributing, marketing and selling – the Freestyle Team have managed to put together a magazine that once again will turn heads and see frisbees flying through the air.

Contributors include photographers such as Uli weber and Jonah Samson, and stylists such as Grace Woodward as well as an array of talented artists, writers and illustrators.

But aside from a fantastic magazine it comes with a fantastic Frisbee! The Issue two “fastback” model frisbee carries a wonderful design by Sir Paul Smith. The disc has the classic Pantone 806c pink- a favorite of Sir Paul and carries the slogan “Take Pleasure Seriously” in a metallic silver and also with his easily recognizable signature in the middle of the disc. This issue promises to be a true design collectable.

Architetti, Ingegneri e Designer avranno a disposizione fino a 200 accessi gratuiti, offerti dal Comune di Milano, per accedere all’archivio, fisico e online, di materiali e processi innovativi di Material ConneXion Milano per un periodo di 6 (sei) mesi. Per ricevere gratuitamente l’abbonamento, dovranno impegnarsi a consegnare entro il 30/09/2010 un progetto che preveda l’utilizzo di materiali o processi innovativi.

Oltre all’accesso al database dei materiali, i partecipanti potranno partecipare ai 4 workshop formativi che si terranno nel corso dell’anno su diverse tematiche relative alla progettazione e all’innovazione:

1. Workshop sul  food relativamente ai temi del packaging e del trasporto
2. Workshop sul food relativamente agli oggetti e ai luoghi del consumo
3. Workshop sul progetto di architettura sostenibile
4. Workshop sul tema del design del prodotto sostenibile con particolare attenzione alle estetiche, al ciclo di produzione e alla performance

Nel mese di novembre 2010, i progetti saranno raccolti in una mostra che si terrà presso la Triennale di Milano e presentati all’interno di una pubblicazione dedicata.

I prodotti saranno visibili durante il Salone del Mobile di Milano (14-19 aprile 2010) presso lo stand Passoni Luigi Sedie (pad.14-D39) al Salone Internazionale del Mobile a Fieramilano Rho e faranno parte dell’allestimento “Vivaio”, organizzato e curato da iarchitects con Custard Studio e Oliver Davies negli stessi giorni durante il Fuorisalone presso il proprio studio CeranoDodici in via Cerano 12 a Milano.

“Vivaio – Where ideas grow”

During the Salone del Mobile week (14-18 April), CeranoDodici is hosting “Vivaio”, with interiors designed and realised by iArchitects, Custard Studio and Oliver Davies, who have fitted out their Studio to tell a design story with the help of Bencore, Margraf, Passoni Luigi Sedie, Woodco and other companies.

The idea is that of a space full of energy, inspired by the concept of a greenhouse that cultivates ideas and projects.

A metaphor to explain the essence of CeranoDodici, a creative hub in the centre of Zona Tortona, in which twelve diverse professional practices coexist to create project synergies bound by the same passion for creativity in its different forms.In this “Nursery”, iArchitects, Custard Studio and Oliver Davies successfully manage to make apparently unrelated businesses interact in full harmony in a design project within “Vivaio”.

Vivaio also means respect for our environment. In each phase of the project we have strived to emply sustainable or reusable materials, with a real effort to reduce waste as much as possible.

Today Cerano Dodici was host to a crew filming scenes for a film on design entitled “Gioco di  Squadra”, produced by Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and in association with the Comune di Milano.
